Winter Coat Drive a Huge Success!

For the fourth consecutive year, the month long coat drive hosted by ShopRite and The Ravitz Family Foundation was a huge success!  A record year for this drive, more than 4,000 gently used coats were collected to help families in need in South Jersey.

All generously donated coats were delivered to the United Way of Burlington County (http://www.uwburlington.org/) and the United Way of Camden County (http://www.uwccnj.org/ ) for distribution to local families in need.   United Way of Burlington County sorted more than 1,500 coats and invited local partner agencies to come collect what they needed for the community.  More than ten agencies, ranging in scope from the military, local food pantries and mental health services, arrived to take winter coats for distribution to families in need.

“Every year, the generous spirit of our customers allows us to help our neighbors in need,” said Shawn Ravitz, Vice President of Administration, ShopRite Supermarkets of Cherry Hill.  “We are so proud to lend a hand in any way we can and we thank our loyal customers for their continued help and support.”

The Ravitz family owns and operates five ShopRite stores in Burlington and Camden Counties under the ShopRite Supermarkets of Cherry Hill banner, and employs nearly 1,100 associates. Throughout its 40 years in business, ShopRite Supermarkets of Cherry Hill has been a long time supporter of key community efforts, including The Ravitz Family Foundation (http://www.ravitzfamilyfoundation.org), which aids children and families in need by providing grants to local charitable organizations.
