United Way: Making a Difference

United Way is more than a fundraiser. United Way is in the business of getting results for the community. United Way of Burlington County is a bridge linking community leaders and partner agencies together to address Burlington County’s most pressing problems — issues that the community itself has prioritized.

Based on the results of this 2005 Burlington County Needs Assessment, United Way of Burlington County divided the leading community concerns into four strategic focus areas:


Strengthening Families

Families are a community’s foundation. It benefits everyone to help keep this foundation strong. To help with this, United Way focuses on the following:

Parent Education

Support for At-Risk Families

  • In-home family counseling
  • Outpatient family counseling

Domestic Violence

Promoting Independent Living & Self-Sufficiency

Keeping the disabled of all ages living self-sufficient lives and helping seniors live independently in their own homes is a top priority. The United Way gets these results the following ways:
